Open House Continues this weekend:
This is the last of the 3 Open Houses for this year. Hopefully those who attended, had an opportunity to check out the children’s classes and/or adults’ satsanga, and got their questions addressed, will decide to become members and have their children join our invaluable, curriculum-based Bala Vihar. Pujya Sw. Swaroopananda-ji’s discourses on “Growing in Love” are ongoing:
These discourses will continue thru Sunday at Chitrakoot (Chitrakoot, 7:15 – 8:30 PM). Then on the last day of Swamiji’s visit, Monday, Aug 26th, please join us as we celebrate Krishna Janmashtami at Saaket @7:00 – 8:30 PM followed by mahaprasad. If interested in mahaprasad sponsorships (@$101 per family), please let us know.
Labor Day Retreat (2024) for Children:
- Open for children, 5th Grade and up.
- This year’s retreat is from Aug 30th (evening) – Sept 2nd (noon) at Chinmaya Mangalam, Barry, TX.

Follow-up College essay workshop – for our HS seniors (they were 11th graders when we had the 1st workshop in April):
- When? Sunday, September 15th, @ 4:30-7 pm
- Where? At Chinmaya-Saaket
- What? Follow-up College Essay Writing workshop … for the current 12th graders; They are welcome to attend even if they missed the first workshop.
- What should students bring?
–Printed copies of their essay drafts along with the prompts they are responding to -do not write your name on it, just choose a random 4-digit number as an identifier.

Beginner’s Sanskrit Class, 2024-25:
- Classes are open to all CMDFW members and their friends.
- Starts on Saturday, September 28, 2024
- Registration deadline: Monday, September 23, 2024.
- Class size is limited to TWELVE (12) students only.
- Prerequisite: Must know how to read and write Devanagari Script. (Sanskrit/Marathi/Hindi) and be above 16 years of age.
- Class timing: Each Saturday on ZOOM from 9:00 am to 10:15 am.
- Duration: Sept. 28, 2024 through May 23, 2025.
- Instructor: Mrs. Kumudini Bellary; (Substitute: P.B. Ghate)
- A recommended Donation for this Sanskrit Class is $150.
- Sanskrit Classes are free for Parivar Members.
- Cost of books: $80/- Text books plus a dictionary.
- If you wish to join this class, please send an email to Mrs. Kumudini Bellary at kumu_bellary@yahoo.com with the following required information: 1) Your Full Name 2) Email address and 3) Telephone number.
After your request for registration is received, you will receive a page of Sanskrit text. You need to copy the page and return a scanned copy of your handwritten page by email to pbghate@aol.com for verification of your ability to read and write Sanskrit script. Registration is restricted to only those who meet this requirement.
