Chinmaya Mission Holi SEVA 2024: Carter BloodCare Drive at Mangalam!

WHEN: 10am – 4pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024

WHERE: Carter BloodCare Bus will be at  Chinmaya Mangalam (10470 FM744, Barry TX 75102) 

WHAT:  We are partnering with Carter BloodCare, a non-profit who is the primary blood supplier to more than 200 medical facilities and services 50-plus counties in north, central & east Texas.  Since their focus is local, they ask the local community for donations to maintain a safe and sufficient blood supply.  

WHY:  Only about 37 percent of the population at any given time is eligible to give blood, but less than 4 percent of blood donors, in the Carter BloodCare service area, give blood.  With the aging population, the younger population is needed to step up and become blood donors. 

We want to give our members, especially the youth, a chance to give back to the local community!

WHO:  Chinmaya Mission members and their friends/family who are eligible to donate. 

Basic Eligibility to donate:

• At least 16 years old and in good general health. Sixteen-year-olds must have written parental consent 
• If you have traveled to India in the past THREE months and returned on or after January 6, then you are NOT eligible to donate!!
