Get Involved

Bala Vihar runs on the quiet dedication of volunteer sevaks and sevikas — parents and members who plan, teach, and work behind the scenes to make every session possible. There’s a place for every talent and every amount of time. Here are some of the ways you can help.

Teaching & Curriculum

Recruit Teachers — the Brahmacharins and coordinators are always looking for new teachers to guide our children.

Curriculum — the Brahmacharins design the age-appropriate curriculum; please contact them directly with any questions.

Teacher Training — the Brahmacharins lead training sessions through the year; contact the Session Coordinators to take part.

Chanting Programs

Gita Chanting — during assembly, the Brahmacharins teach selected verses through the year. If you are good in chanting Gita, you are welcome to get involved in teaching Gita Chanting.

Slokathon — this self-paced program (books, audio, and CDs available at all centers) is best guided by a live teacher. Help children learn correct pronunciation and intonation.

Assembly & Festivals

Bala Vihar Assembly Monitors — serve as doorkeepers during assembly, helping maintain discipline as the hall doors close at the start and reopen before announcements.

Bala Vihar Festivals — help bring festivals and stage programs to life through the year, creating the perfect ambiance for these celebrations.

How to get involved

To help with any of these — or to find something that fits your talents and schedule — please reach out to the Bala Vihar coordinators. They’ll be glad to point you to the right team.
