BUSES
- We have made arrangements for at least one bus each from Saaket and Chitrakoot centers. If you do not wish to drive, you may use the Registration link above to reserve a seat on the bus.
Time: 9 AM (sharp!) – Buses will depart from Saaket and Chitrakoot.
Please plan to arrive at either center by 8:30 AM to allow enough time for check-in before you board the bus.
If you are late, you may be left behind but you could still drive in your own car. Sorry, no refunds if you miss the bus!
4 PM – Buses will depart from Chinmaya Mangalam.
Registration for the bus ride will end on Tuesday, April 21 at midnight.
GOING GREEN
- Each one of you can help by not wasting food, paper products AND by bringing your own reusable water bottle, labeled with your name.
- We will have drinking water supply on-site but do not plan to provide disposable water bottles which, though convenient, are a huge waste of resources.
- Another part about being green is cleaning up after yourself at the event site. This will make the job of the clean-up crew a little easier and also be kinder to the planet!
EVENT UPDATES
Please check CMDFW’s web-site http://www.cmdfw.org/ for timings, directions, cancellation notice and other event-related updates, on the morning of the event before you set out.
- If you have any questions please send an email to : picnic@cmdfw.org
PARENT RESPONSIBILITY
- Chinmaya Mangalam is a 140-acre heavily wooded ranch, much of which is beautiful, natural wilderness. Although the facility is safe but as a precaution WE REQUIRE THAT ADULTS AND CHILDREN WEAR FOOTWEAR THAT COMPLETELY COVER THE FEET. NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS, PLEASE!
- Children 10 yrs and under must wear a wrist band bearing parent contact information and have at least one parent present, on site, for the duration of the event. Wrist bands will be provided at event registration.
- Children 11 to 18 yrs must have a responsible adult present on site at all times.
- Parents are responsible for ensuring that children wear weather-appropriate and Mission-appropriate attire to the event. Please make sure that clothing and footwear are appropriate for Event, Holi and Walkathon activities. We are in the wilderness, therefore, long pants are recommended.
- Picnic guests are responsible for bringing their own safety gear for sports and recreational activities at the event. Parents will ensure that their children wear the necessary safety gear for pertinent activities at the event.
- Parents are also responsible for ensuring that their children follow perimeter security restrictions, signs and warnings.
HOLI
- CHINMAYA MISSION WILL PROVIDE ALL HOLI SUPPLIES AT THE EVENT. Holi-related items brought on-site (including but not limited to Holi colors, water balloons, water guns, pichkaris, ketchup, etc.) may be subject to confiscation and attendees barred from participation.
- We will make every effort to provide safe Holi supplies; however, participants who may be allergic to such materials should refrain from playing Holi. Parents are responsible for ensuring that children, 17 and under, who may be allergic to Holi materials DO NOT come into contact with these materials at the event.
- We recommend that you bring towels and/or plastic sheets to protect your car interior from water and Holi-color damage, following the event.
- BUS RIDERS – Please bring an extra set of clothes to change into, after Holi, and prior to boarding the bus for the return trip. We need your cooperation to ensure that we do not incur exorbitant clean-up charges for the rental buses!
