Kitchen Sevak Training Workshops 2026–27 — Free Zoom Series from Chinmaya Mission West

Chinmaya Mission West presents a free three-part Zoom workshop series for kitchen sevaks, led by Dr. Sushama Dandekar. Participate in interactive workshops that foster discussion and creative brainstorming with fellow sevaks as we plan for upcoming Chinmaya Mission retreats nationwide. No prior experience is required.

Dates

• Part 1 — Sunday, November 15, 2026
• Part 2 — Sunday, January 10, 2027
• Part 3 — Sunday, February 21, 2027

Each session is two hours on Zoom, 4:00–6:00 PM Central (2 PM Pacific / 3 PM Mountain / 5 PM Eastern).

Based on interest, an in-person cooking workshop will be held in Dallas, TX, in March.

What the workshops include

• Design nutritious, well-balanced meal plans for various Chinmaya Mission events.
• Explore cuisines from around the world.
• Food safety and special dietary needs will be discussed too.
• Understand how to manage costs and available manpower.
• Learn efficient methods of cooking based on volunteer availability.
• Adapt traditional recipes to modernized methods while preserving the nutritional properties.

It is a good program and benefits our sevaks. I will encourage people to attend.
