Here are the BV Assembly announcements for this week.

Walkathon/Picnic t-shirts and Event Registration: 

  • Pre-orders for t-shirts are open and are only $10/person right now; increase to $15/person after February 8th, so hurry and get your orders in. 
  • We have sample t-shirt design available at each Bala Vihar session in case you haven’t seen the winning design. We are currently evaluating a lighter t-shirt color to use for the final design.
  • Walkathon/picnic will be held on April 25th at Chinmaya Mangalam.
  • Registration for the walkathon/picnic event is $15/person and is free for Chinmaya Parivar family members.
  • Registration for both the walkathon/picnic and pre-orders for the t-shirt is now open and can be done at http://cmdfw.org

Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav, 2026  –  CMDFW Events:

We invite you to join us at our signature events of 2026.

#1 Gita Saptaah  

  • February 22-28, at Saaket. Sampoorna Gita Jnana Yagna by Swami Shantananda-ji.
  • Morning pooja + chanting of 3 Gita chapters each day (7:30 – 8:30 a.m.); evening discourses, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. 
  • Bhiksha opportunities for Swamiji would be available

    #2 Hanuman Chalisa Havan (HCH) –

    • Saturday, March 28th at Chinmaya Mangalam.
    • 108 Hanuman Chalisa Chanting and Havan offerings. We’re looking for 75 Havan yajamans (first come, first served basis) to perform the Havan. 
    • Registration is now open
      • Limited number of Havan yajamans available,  on a first-come, first-served basis
      • Registration deadline – Mar 15, 2026
      • Registration fees: Early-bird special for yajamans  thru Jan end is $251 … it will increase to $351 in February and then to $501 in March; mahaprasad and other “general attendee” sponsorships are available

    #3 Samashti Gita Samarpanam (SGS) – Saturday, May 9th – We’re working towards creating a Guinness World Record, by simultaneous chanting(virtual) of Gita Ch. 15 Worldwide.  Details have been shared to your Inbox. 

    • We specifically request our youth and high school students to sign up for Webex hosting  of the event – Highschoolers can earn volunteer hours

    #4 Gita Sugita Kartavya (GSK) 

    • Saturday, August 29th, at Eisemann Center.
    • A theatrical production showcasing how Pujya Gurudev lived the teachings of the Gita. Pujya Swami Swaroopananda-ji has kindly agreed to grace the occasion.

    Mahashivaratri 2026 – update: 

    We invite you to attend the CMDFW Samashti Mahashivaratri pooja followed by mahaprasad

    • Sunday, Feb 15 @7:30 – 9:00 p.m.
    • Where: Chinmaya Chitrakoot

    • High School Students, there’s a SEVA opportunity for which you can earn volunteer hours … please take a look at your WhatsApp Group for details.

    Lohri – Elementary Snack Bag Seva

    • We will be preparing approximately 100 snack bags as seva for individuals experiencing homelessness.
    • Children from elementary classes are invited to participate with a parent or guardian. For safety reasons, children who are not accompanied by a parent will not be permitted to take part.
    • When: Sunday, January 25th 10:45 AM – 11:45 AM (right after S1 session)
    • Where: Saaket Kitchen downstairs

    Gita Chanting competition 2026: 

    This is no ordinary year! As Chinmaya Mission turns 75, our annual Gita Chanting Competition is going Global! 🌏

    📖 The Challenge: Chapter 12 (Bhakti Yoga) 

    🗓️ Save the Date: Children – February 21st, 2026 (Regional Round) … date change from the original calendar date!

    Adults – February 20th, 2026 

    ✨ The Goal: From Regional winners to international stages!

    Through the “Learn Gita” initiative, children will also have the wonderful opportunity to learn the word-to-word meanings of the shlokas. We will continue to share details about each stage of the competition as we move forward.

    Let’s fill our homes with the vibrations of the Gita. Parents, please encourage your children to participate in this historic 75th-year celebration. More details coming soon! 🚩
